Dr. Raman Kishore, a physician at AIIMS Patna, organized a free health camp four years ago, and his team has since then provided free treatment to over 10,000 patients. Dr. Kishore and his team of doctors at AIIMS Patna have set up 89 health camps in an area of about 30 km around Patna. The team treats patients free of cost, and Dr. Kishore spends 70 to 80 percent of his salary on providing treatment to people. Dr. Kishore started creating awareness about diseases among the people in rural Bihar after seeing many paralyzed patients who were unaware of high blood pressure. His team keeps in touch with every patient they treat in a village through an app that contains the patient’s complete history and contact numbers. They interact with the patients from time to time and give proper advice on treatment.
