A DMK councillor, her husband, and minor daughter allegedly died by suicide in Tamil Nadu’s Namakkal district.
The deceased have been identified as A Devipriya, 43, councillor of ward no. 13 in Rasipuram Municipality; her husband and DMK functionary Arunlal, 51; and their 16-year-old daughter.
The bodies have been sent to a government hospital for post-mortem.
“As per the initial investigation, we suspect that the family might have taken the extreme decision due to excessive debt but we are carrying out further inquiry,” a senior police official said.
