In what is believed to be the first in the country, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has launched a special vehicle to rescue people and carry out emergency rescue operations in cases of accidents.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin Friday flagged off the vehicle ‘VEERA’ (Vehicle for Extrication in Emergency Rescue and Accidents) at the state police headquarters in Chennai.
