
The policemen especially those manning traffic and doing bandobust duties during important events have been asked to avoid using mobile phones as it may affect their concentration.
The Greater Chennai Police (GCP) Commissioner Monday issued directions to the officials not to use mobile phones while on duty.
Following the directions of the Director General of Police (DGP), City Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore asked policemen especially traffic police personnel and policemen on bandobast duties during important events to avoid using mobile phones as it may lead them to lose concentration and delay their work.
“Policemen on VIP security, bandobast duty, security duty during temple and festival events, should not use mobile phones, the seniors should brief the junior ranked officials while allotting duty,” the City Police Commissioner said.
