
Shamshabad excise sleuths seized 1,032 bottles of non-duty paid liquor brought to the city by passengers who arrived from other states by flights in the past one week.
Talking to media personnel at the Shamshabad excise station, excise minister V Srinivas Goud said that as part of the special drive against liquor illegally brought from Goa, Haryana, Delhi and other states, 85 cases were booked against 81 passengers .
“We have seized 1,032 litres of liquor worth 16.2 lakh from the flyers,” an official said. In Qutbullapur , 15 persons were arrested and 30 lakh worth liquor from Haryana was seized.
In Saroornagar and Malkajgiri, 11 offenders were arrested for illegal sale of Army CSD liquor.tnn
